Violet PR (www.VioletPR.com) is a seeking a full-time PR professional to support our growing boutique PR firm based in Montclair, NJ. We’re looking for a fun, energetic go-getter who’s passionate about news, writing, social media and media relations. The new hire will support a diverse range of clients in fields including real estate, economic development, professional services and social good.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pitching media by email or phone to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online
• Researching and drafting news releases, pitches, fact sheets, media advisories, social media content, etc.
• Researching target media lists using Cision and the Internet; working with the team to come up with new ideas to reach targeted media outlets
• Social media management, including implementation of social media campaigns for multiple clients on platforms including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook
• Researching speaking opportunities and editorial calendars for client opportunities
• Managing day-to-day account activities
• Monitoring media coverage and reporting results to the wider team and clients

Job Requirements:

• 2-4 years of PR agency or journalism experience
• Exceptional work ethic and motivated to excel in a fast-paced, creative environment
• Outstanding written and verbal communication with an interest in public policy, real estate and economic development
• Track record of securing media coverage and experience developing relationships with reporters
• Detail oriented and able to coordinate/participate in numerous projects in an organized manner
• Ability to work well within a team in a fun, collaborative and creative setting
• Social media experience, with successful campaigns implemented using Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
