Job Purpose (Job Summary): The Financial Reporting Communications Specialist is responsible for project management associated with the development and production of the Manager’s Discussion of Fund Performance section of the annual and semi-annual reports, including open- and closed-end retail funds, VI funds, Exchange-Traded funds and other Institutional products. The specialist will serve as communications specialist (including writing and editing, as necessary); manage numerous projects simultaneously to appropriate specifications and deadlines as assigned by manager; develop communication objectives and create strategies to complete projects in a manner consistent with Invesco’s mission and core principles.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Serve as project manager for projects as assigned; manage numerous projects simultaneously. Projects include managing production of annual and semiannual shareholder reports, and other ad-hoc communications. Assist manager in establishing appropriate deadlines for reports; ensure they are routed to all appropriate reviewers; ensure reviewer comments are correctly incorporated and all necessary signoffs obtained.
  • Oversee layout and production of assigned projects, working in ArcReporting system and with internal business partners to ensure materials are appropriately designed, completed and released to print on deadline.
  • Take full responsibility for each project assignment. When appropriate, establish meetings and delivery schedules. Monitor content and accuracy of materials before they are published.
  • When required, work with department management to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Edit and proofread copy for various communications literature. This includes, but is not limited to annual/semiannual reports, statement inserts, and other communications. Also, responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements for such materials, including seeking guidance from Legal, Financial Reporting or Compliance as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive practices with respect to shareholder communications. Ensure all materials are consistent in tone and design with Invesco brand standards, AP and Invesco style.
  • Manage and develop client relationships; serve as a communications consultant in offering value-added solutions to meet client needs. Communicate on a regular basis with product managers, legal staff, accountants, compliance staff, designers and print and mail support.
  • Develop text for annual and semi-annual reports, such as President’s letter or market overview as assigned.
  • Documents processes and procedures.
  • Uses advanced knowledge of computer applications to develop new approaches in electronic tasks to improve efficiencies and quality or work products.
  • Assists in the coordination, implementation and completion of special projects, as assigned.
  • Work Experience / Knowledge:
  • Three to five years’ work experience as a professional editor, communicator, or financial writer, preferably in the mutual fund industry. Marketing materials design and brand knowledge a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, proofreading and spelling skills
  • Ability to prioritize, set and meet deadlines, and manage one’s own time.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals including clients and vendors.
  • Overall understanding of Windows programs and above average software skills

Formal Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, marketing, journalism or English.

License/Registration/Certification:

  • The ability to work remotely when required.
  • Frequent sitting.
  • Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
