Edelman Global Advisory is a newly launched standalone international advisory firm within Edelman, the world’s largest public relations company. Our clients range from established Fortune 500 businesses to foreign governments, leading international NGOs, and others seeking our assistance to persuade audiences on the most important issues facing society, ranging from regulation on technology to issue advocacy on topics like modern day slavery.
We are seeking a motivated and communications savvy Senior Account Supervisor (SAS) to join the Edelman Global Advisory team in Washington, D.C. You will support all aspects of our work—from building communications initiatives and strategic programs to developing and executing earned media strategy. You will also be responsible for developing messaging material and campaigns that support the practice’s growth strategy and brand.

More about what you’ll do:

  • Support Edelman Global Advisory day-to-day account work in earned media strategy and implementation – including campaigns, messaging documents, press releases, talking points, presentations, briefing memos
  • Support the development of thought leadership products, materials and exposure for Edelman Global Advisory and its CEO, COO, and core team members
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully and effectively
  • Create and drive both traditional and social media outreach plans
  • Provide client service project management administration including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling conversational monitoring reports and competitor coverage, conducting background research of media, policymakers, and other third-party stakeholders
  • Research, outline, write, edit, and proofread written deliverables
  • Understand key client information including business strategy, products and services, outlook, goals, key customers, and competitor
  • Play a leading role in the creation of client communications plans and goals, as well as new business proposals and materials
  • Coordinate among Edelman’s other discipline experts – creative, digital, and social teams, account strategists and subject matter experts to provide clients with customized counsel
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
  • Provide coordination support for projects and events including inviting stakeholders, attending functions, and preparing recap reports
  • As a member of the broader Advisory Practice, you will serve as a mentor to junior staff and interns.

We are looking for you to have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in public relations/public affairs and/or related fields including journalism, politics, communications, and media
  • A diverse set of skills and strong abilities in earned media, social media, and executive positioning/thought leadership
  • Beyond media relations, the position requires strong networking, a capable speaker, organized, confident and professional individual. Someone who stays up to date with current events, including political issues
  • As a plus – experience in local or federal legislative branches
  • Proven organizational ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Established relationships with reporters across a variety of verticals and media outlets with success securing impactful media from top-tier outlets within print, online, broadcast, and other formats such as podcasts, video, and social content
  • Consistent ability to develop, manage and implement media relations strategies across all communications channels
  • Excellent storytelling skills, able to provide sound media counsel to clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Proven ability to develop communications/public affairs plans, implement public relations tactics
  • Strong writing and editing skills with mastery of AP style and grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Desire to mentor and impart knowledge to more junior team members
  • Experience interacting with and serving as a main point of contact for clients
  • An interest in advancing the business organically and through new business initiatives
