Are you an energetic video and multimedia storyteller/producer who can take a message that wows from conception to distribution? Love scripts and storyboarding as much as shooting and editing short or long form videos?

Kettering University is looking for a talented Multimedia Producer to lead video and next-level creative content creation for multiple audiences, including prospective and current students, employees and alumni, as part of the University Marketing and Communications team.

The Multimedia Producer will develop and produce great stories in multimedia formats that promote and advance institutional goals and brand narrative. The producer will focus primarily on creative digital storytelling for the web, social media, and internal communications at a highly professional level that connect with identified audiences for the platform(s).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with higher education
  • 3-5 years experience in multimedia creative content production and management
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing and/or communications

Job Specific Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in conceptualizing and producing video
  • 2-4 years of experience in digital marketing and/or communications
  • Examples of professional quality videos, graphics, and other materials produced with description of role and responsibility.
  • Proficiency in digital film-making, including pre-production, planning, lighting, audio and editing, journalism/marketing and storytelling capabilities
  • Strong creative vision that supports University brand and messaging in diverse mediums and platforms.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Clear understanding of the entire creative process from ideation to distribution.
  • Ability to quickly create short-form video content for use on social media.
  • Demonstrated experience with audio/video editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Audition, Apple Motion, etc.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently while exercising appropriate judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in receiving and providing guidance and feedback.

Duties

  • Responsible for the look and tone of video content in alignment with brand messaging.
  • Lead all aspects of digital video production, including story concepting, planning, interviewing, script writing, shooting, editing, creating graphics and other effects, incorporating sound, music and photographs.
  • Collaborates with team members to craft content for the website and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) and stakeholders throughout campus to effectively advance the University’s brand, unique value, and initiatives.
  • Follows iterative edit and approval process.
  • Institutes responsive and effective video project request and management process.
  • Coordinates and manages outside vendors/contractors for special projects as needed.
  • Utilize reporting analytics to drive video strategy and content distribution across media channels, including YouTube and Vimeo.
  • Responsible for event video coverage as well as onsite AV needs.
  • Maintains and updates creative and technical skills consistent with the field to stay abreast of changing technologies and techniques.
  • Organizes and manages all digital video assets.
  • Creates motion graphics, GIFs, and other dynamic visual assets.
  • Management of University podcast, Horsepower to Hyperloops.
  • Photo/still photography support
