Job Description

MORI Associates is looking for a talented and reliable Content Copywriter/ Editor to join our Multimedia team supporting the Office of Procurement’s Business Operations team at the Mary W. Jackson NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C., as well as our COMIT team, located at the Johnson Space Center. This position is eligible for telework.

We’re looking for someone who will help us expand our multimedia capabilities by providing solid journalistic writing and editorial support as well as creative input for content. The successful candidate will be the primary copywriter and copy editor on various communication projects including, but not limited to, announcements, overarching talking points, a digital newsletter, acknowledgements, a monthly report provided to NASA and other products designated by NASA and COMIT.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the NASA Style Guide/AP style and editing and producing compelling content. The successful candidate should also be detail-oriented, collaborative and committed to meeting tight deadlines.

Preference will be given to those with previous NASA or Government writing experience as well as a strong writing portfolio, bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Craft compelling, error-free copy and edit internal and external products such as reports, talking points, a digital newsletter and any other communication products required by the customer.
  • Provide quality control for content so that all products reflect the appropriate voice and conform to NASA’s Style Guide and AP style.
  • Meet with the client to determine and develop the vision for the requirement, understand their message and target audience and execute the final product.
  • Offer creative and professional input by proposing copy concepts and recommending solutions for content problems.
  • Work with varied stakeholders to support conceptual projects and technical information with clear and concise copy.
  • Work with manager, team lead and client throughout the process.
  • Be involved with timeline for projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen for NASA badging and access
  • 5 years’ experience in a copywriting and editing capacity
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; has superb attention to detail
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and multi-task
  • Expertise with the AP Stylebook
  • Knowledge of NASA’s Style Guide
  • A portfolio of examples that demonstrate creativity of producing content and editing of multiple writing styles and products
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Journalism, related degree or related experience
