The Internship

As a member of the Information Experience team, you’ll expand your skills as a technical writer and editor by working with a highly collaborative team. You’ll research, write, and update articles for Code42’s support site, edit other writers’ work, and get hands-on experience with Code42 products by working with or setting up test environments to validate content. This position offers the opportunity to work independently on writing assignments, building strong samples for your professional portfolio.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Planning, writing, editing, and publishing product help and technical documentation that is accurate, comprehensive, clear, and trustworthy
  • Continuously improving content in response to frequent product changes and feedback from customers and colleagues
  • Reviewing and editing content for other team members
  • Assisting with writing projects, process improvements, or other projects, as needed
  • Using Jira and Confluence to track and manage work assignments and projects
  • Applying consistent attention to detail and organization in all aspects of work, from organizing ideas to adhering to style and other team standards

What You Bring

  • Pursuing a degree or certificate program in Technical Communications, Information Systems, Computer Science, English, Journalism, or related field with at least two years of coursework completed
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Adaptable and excel at working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours a week) from June 1st – August 13th (expected dates)
  • We anticipate that the internship will be fully remote

Preferred

  • Experience writing for software applications.
  • A link to something that showcases your work, such as your personal website or technical blog, a website you’ve built, or other samples of technical writing work where you were the primary author.
  • Familiarity with:
  • SEO best practices and Google Analytics
  • Enterprise security software or enterprise security professionals
  • A markup language like HTML or XML, or a programming language like Python, Javascript, PHP, or others
