Kankakee Valley Publishing has an immediate opening for a sports/news reporter.

The ideal candidate has the ability to focus on all aspects of community journalism, including taking pictures and writing stories about local happenings. This candidate should have a proficiency in Photoshop, Indesign, and TCMS BLOX pagination. Multi-media skills are also ideal.

Qualified candidates should have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while being able to work autonomously in a team-driven setting. We are searching for a candidate to become a part of the community and build relationships.

This is a full-time job with Kankakee Valley Publishing, based in Watseka, Illinois, working for a combined newsroom of weekly titles in East Central Illinois/West Central Indiana. We offer a competitive salary, vacation, 401k and health insurance benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
