Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst – Sales Finance

Department: Finance

Reports To: Senior Finance Manager

Purpose of position

Financial analysis that drives profitable decision making to support Dyson’s U.S. sales organization

Main Accountabilities And Supporting Activities

Provide financial support to the National Accounts Team

  • Lead robust financial analysis, commentary, and reporting and develop insights/recommendations to leadership team
  • Key business partner for our key large U.S. retailers
  • Support key decisions by working closely with the National Account team
  • Partner with sales & demand teams to develop retailer business plans
  • Support existing and implementation of new commercial planning tools

Manage the annual budget and monthly re-forecast process

  • Own the forecast and budgets for key retailers working with the relevant National Account managers and support the Senior Finance Manager with the overall promotional forecast and budget
  • Analyze retailer plans to ensure goals are in line with corporate objectives
  • Analyze Promotional Investment to ensure spend is profitable and impactful to Dyson’s corporate objectives

Partner with the sales team to ensure quality evaluation is performed to measure the return on investment
Ensure approval is secured for promotional activities for accounts

Work cross-functionally to ensure promotional spend is accrued accurately
Special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

Identify problems and find solutions

Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
Think outside of the box, identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; MBA in Finance preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in a Financial Analyst role required, preferably with experience in a sales & marketing organization
  • Proven experience analyzing and resolving issues around forecasting and budgeting
  • A high level of proficiency in the use of spreadsheets – the ability to quickly understand business scenarios and model them is critical
  • Advanced knowledge/ proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Demonstrates understanding of the preparation, analysis and presentation of corporate financial statements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence through clear presentation and communication of complex data analysis
  • Competence with fundamentals of project management required
  • Adaptable/flexible – able to multi task
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
