Position Description

Advantage Technical is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst for our client to work remotely.

Duties: The Senior Business Systems Analyst will use Agile methodologies to develop analytical solutions. This work will consist of partnering closely with BI Engineers, Data Analysts and business stakeholders to understand business problems and how to solve them using analytical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset with the ability to process qualitative data and draw insightful conclusions from data and have a solid technical background in BI technologies and solutions. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will have direct exposure to customers and will have to use their experience and knowledge to recommend and demonstrate a viable solution.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in the workstream planning process including inception, testing, and delivery of BI solutions.
• Works with data analysts and stakeholders to understand needs, analyze business problems and translate them into requirements leading to robust, scalable, operable solutions.
• Conduct analysis of business and user needs for needs, features, reports, and functions to develop requirements for data analytics and reporting, utilizing expertise in Business Operations, Statistical and Financial Reporting, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Data Warehousing.
• Collects, analyzes, and shares data to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience, and business results.
• Lead/Assist in the creation of requirements that are developed jointly with the stakeholders, SME’s and technical development team(s), including output definition, logical design (business process and rules, data elements and flows, screens and dashboards/reports), implementation plan, documentation, and training needs
• Tests BI solutions such as databases, queries and views, reports, and dashboards.

• Documents new and existing models, solutions, and implementations.
• Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software in conjunction with the production support team.
• Track, monitor and analyze performance and production issues, and recommends improvements.
• Provides input to the development of data/information quality metrics.
• Works closely with customers, data analysts and product owners to create ad hoc reports to support timely business decisions and project work.
• Provides guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to other team members.

Skills:

• 6+ years of business intelligence or data analysis experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Expert knowledge in SQL with the ability to write complex queries
• Hands-on experience supporting or working with Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing environments.
• Ability to document as-is and to-be business processes and business requirements
• Knowledge and experience developing in Power BI is a plus

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Mathematics or specialized training/certification. Or equivalent work experience.
