Overview

The DWS High Yield team manages holdings of non-investment grade bonds and bank loans in international and domestic mutual fund portfolios as well as separate account portfolios for corporate and private clients. You will be responsible for performing in-depth fundamental and financial credit analysis of high yield debt instruments and providing investment recommendations from a relative value and total return perspective to the portfolio management team. You should have a solid understanding of financial reports, be proficient in financial modeling, including multi-scenario analysis, and be able to evaluate credit risk at the issue, issuer and sector levels. You will be expected to perform thorough ongoing surveillance of assigned credits and provide timely updates on significant credit and industry developments. You should be proficient with MS Excel and possess solid verbal and written communication skills in order to confidently defend your investment recommendations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough credit analysis of primary and secondary market HY Bond and Leverage Loan opportunities
  • Make fundamental and relative value investment recommendations to the portfolio management team
  • Conduct ongoing credit surveillance and up to date financial modeling of assigned credits
  • Provide regular credit and sector updates during portfolio investment reviews
  • Work constructively as member of a respectful, supportive and inclusive DWS Team

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree and, ideally, extensive relevant experience
  • Knowledge of company financial statements and SEC reports
  • Proficient with MS Excel
  • Familiarity financial modeling and, ideally an appreciation of multi-scenario and recovery analysis
  • Preferably, have knowledge of credit agreements and debt covenants
