About the Role

The primary responsibility of a Business Wire Newsroom Editor is to accurately and efficiently prepare and transmit news releases over Business Wire’s circuits. A Newsroom Editor will also work as a team member performing any and all functions necessary for the successful operation of Newsroom Operations as determined by departmental management.

Business Wire’s newsroom is a 24-hour operation. There are currently two shifts available:
1) Monday – Friday, 1:30 pm – 10 pm
2) Sunday – Thursday, 1:30 pm – 10 pm

What You’ll Do

  • Format and edit content written by our clients
  • Work under deadlines to ensure accurate dissemination of clients’ press releases
  • Monitor press releases to ensure successful delivery across intended platforms
  • Act as an expert resource for client inquiries on Business Wire’s products and services
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Provide membership information and set up new accounts when the situation is approved and appropriate
  • Collaborate with sales and other departments as necessary

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workflow, and follow projects through to completion under tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Basic technical skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in standard business applications (i.e., MS Word and Excel; Web, etc.)
  • Must demonstrate reliability through good attendance and punctuality
  • Courteous and professional phone manner
  • Professional demeanor
  • Must be flexible with schedule, as needed
