Responsible for writing news releases for the university’s website and producing news videos to supplement articles. Will also write feature and news articles for the Liberty Journal magazine. Requires high-level editing and judgment calls for news releases and support for Office of Communications and Public Engagement special projects. Work closely with other university departments to coordinate multimedia coverage of news and events. Must be flexible to cover news as it happens on nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, or, a related field.
• Must have experience in news & feature writing, copy editing, and filming and video editing.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and AP Style.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in journalism and public relations

• Proficiency in Adobe creative suite, especially, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

Work Hours

Will need to be flexible on schedule as you will be covering news as it happens.
