APG Media of Southern Wisconsin is looking to fill several positions in both news and sports in our weekly and daily locations throughout Wisconsin.

Among our openings are an editor for a community weekly and a regional sports reporter, both in southern Wisconsin, and general-assignment reporters based in Marinette, Antigo, Beloit and Janesville.

With nearly 50 newsroom positions in our southern Wisconsin region, our regional editor is building a developmental culture focused on bringing in quality talent and finding the right position for each person.

Each of these positions will involve reporting, editing and some photography. The journalists best suited to these roles will be creative self-starters with a natural curiosity about the people in our communities. We need people who want to build relationships with sources, peers and mentors and will always look for ways to engage readers and get beyond the surface of stories.

In southern Wisconsin, Adams Publishing Group produces 15 news publications in a variety of formats – daily, weekly and semiweekly – but what they all have in common are readers who want useful, local content. We need stories about our neighbors, our businesses, our governments and local trends.

Qualifications include a degree in journalism or professional reporting experience. Skills desired include photography, social media, an understanding of open records laws and the ability to get sources to speak freely, whether that’s a government official or a reluctant feature story subject. Most important is a can-do attitude and a desire to expand your skillset.
