Job Description

WSMV, a Meredith station is looking for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ). The MMJ seeks out, produces and tells stories on a variety of platforms-television and others. This position shoots and edits its own stories and delivers them on TV and other digital media. The work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including on air, website, app and social media.

Essential Job Functions :

• 50% Researches, shoots and edits stories for air and on- line.
• 20% Presents stories on-air and serves as online reporter
• 20% Develops content for digital platforms.
• 10% Completes photography and editing assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Job Requirements :

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast journalism, communications or related field or equivalent training or experience.

Experience : Minimum one year experience in broadcast news gathering role. Experience reporting news at a commercial television station preferred.

Specific, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Must be computer literate and web savvy. Must possess good photography, editing and on-air presentation skills.
