St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is committed to advancing the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases. As a Medical Content Writer, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to identify, develop, and edit content delivered to patients and families. This position is responsible for developing new content for printed, web, and other communication platforms using evidence-informed standards in patient and family education and health literacy. In this role you will also provide input on visual media projects for patients and families, including video, photography, illustrations, and graphics. Additional responsibilities include conducting literature reviews; developing surveys; interviewing subject matter experts, patients, and family members; writing content and adapting information for use across delivery platforms; and implementing best practices in health communication across the organization.
Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Memphis, TN area.
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, digital marketing, English, healthcare or related field is required
Master’s degree preferred
- Four(4) years of experience with medical, science, or academic writing, healthcare writing, corporate communications, journalism, or public relations is required
- Ideally with experience in life sciences and including web writing is preferred
- Experience in a science or healthcare environment is preferred
- Experience with writing/web or writing/editing blogs is a plus
