Job Summary

The Communication Department at CWU is accepting applications to fill current and future part-time, quarterly and annual appointment lecturer positions to teach classes in Communication Studies, Digital Journalism (broadcast, writing & reporting), and Public Relations. This list is not all inclusive: other courses/subject areas may become available within the department.

The Communication Department invites applications to join an eclectic department of oral, written, and visual communication. Our current faculty consists of thirteen professors and over 200 undergraduate majors. The department offers majors communication studies, digital journalism, and public relations,

Minimum Qualifications

MA in communication, mass communication, media studies, journalism, public relations, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in communication, mass communication, media studies, journalism, public relations, or related fields.
  • Evidence of successful college-level teaching.
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary and academic service learning.
  • Professional experience in journalism, public relations, or other media-related industries.

Pay: Based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement – http://www.cwu.edu/hr/labor-relations/ufc

Applicable Centers/Sites: Ellensburg (main campus)

Additional Information: This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for positions in the department of Communication through March 2022. There is a possibility that selected applicants may be called on short notice to fill lecturer vacancies on a quarter-by-quarter basis.

Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue as needed. The number of lecturer positions filled varies from quarter to quarter, depending upon the needs of the department. Positions typically start at the beginning of an academic quarter. Your application will be maintained in this pool for consideration through March 2022.
