Title:

Commissioning Editor Description: Voice of America is looking for a talented and creative commissioning editor to help carry on its mission of informing, engaging, and connecting our global audience on the new OTT platform, VOA+. As a commissioning editor, you will be responsible for commissioning/acquiring short/long-form content with a longer shelf life.

Responsibilities: –

Review story pitches and hire freelance VJs/Producers to produce content for the new Documentary series. -Review scripts and final content before the executive producer’s final approval -Write descriptions of content and create titles -Work with graphic teams for any templates for the project -Work with the contract team for any necessary contract-related documents -Create workflow of commissioning content -Connect with documentary communities outside VOA for potential work with them. -Make sure the projects on the pipeline meet the deadlines and regularly report to the executive producer for the status of the projects.

Qualifications:

Must have a documentary background and commissioning documentary experiences. 5+ years of producing documentaries Have deep knowledge of video trends on digital platforms, etc.
