Manager, Internal Communication and Engagement

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Internal Communications, you will be an integral member of the Communications team, working closely with Human Resources, Marketing, and Design counterparts. You will be responsible for keeping employees informed and engaged and help motivate them to do their best for the Company. In this role, you will work with the broader Internal Communication and Human Resource teams and key contacts across the Company to develop internal communications plans and materials that engage and educate the Company’s diverse employee populations and support a people-centric culture.

Principal Responsibilities

The Manager, Internal Communication and Engagement, will partner with Human Resources and other teams and functions across the Company to communicate employee programs and culture initiatives, focusing on making Centric Brands a place where people love to come to work and are enabled and inspired to do their best. You will be working with people at every level, keeping them informed of news and positive developments in the Company and ensuring they stay in the loop.

Internal Communication

  • Strong writer and editor to create copy for existing internal communication vehicles and identify new opportunities to reach employees.
  • Develop creative, informative, and engaging communications, including journalistic stories on behalf of the business, strategic programs, senior leadership, and other internal clients.
  • Lead and develop the content strategy across internal channels and manage editorial coverage across those channels (i.e., intranet, newsletters, email campaigns) on a daily basis.
  • Maintain and execute editorial calendars and produce content in various formats for internal channels to achieve a steady, transparent stream of employee communications, collaborating as needed with designers, developers, and marketing team members.
  • Guide storytelling efforts for key projects across the Company and develop compelling campaigns and content to support Company initiatives.
  • Ensure communications are compelling and aligned with our desired voice and tone.
  • Counsel and support business functions and senior leaders on their internal communications needs.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and HTML with the ability to collaborate with developers on updates and improvements to the corporate intranet site and web app as needed.

Engagement & Event Management

  • Help establish employee engagement programs, including identifying opportunities to connect with employees and developing key messages and communications material to support those programs.
  • Plan, manage and execute internal events on behalf of Centric Brands end-to-end, including partnering with vendors, developing copy for messaging, and overseeing event logistics.
  • Manage event presence, including hosting live events and providing event support.
  • Develop and execute detailed creative campaigns and events around large-scale internal initiatives such as performance management, wellness, annual open enrollment, etc.
  • Collaborate with HR, Marketing, and Internal Communication teams on communicating and executing employee engagement initiatives, creating and managing the calendar of events, webinars in-house and online.

Skills And Qualifications

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years related experience
  • Brilliant short and long-form writing and storytelling skills, with an ability to generate and execute “breakout” ideas.
  • Capacity to capture the authentic voice in written communications and help shape the internal communications narrative effectively via intranet stories and email.
  • Able to quickly grasp information and develop clear communications with minimal guidance.
  • Strong project management skills and the confidence and ability to effectively manage and execute multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Resourceful and proactive in ensuring communication activities align with our culture and values.
  • Experience with digital channels, including mobile and social media.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization.
