Position at Dispatch-Argus
The Dispatch-Argus is seeking a dynamic reporter to cover the Illinois metro Quad-Cities, a region of about 450,000 along the Mississippi River border with Iowa.
The best candidates will have experience covering a range of topics or beats, with an emphasis on stories that capture a sense of place. We need a reporter who can cover a government meeting, write features with narrative flair and produce the enterprise stories that separate us from our TV competition.
We’d prefer candidates with previous newsroom experience, but recent college graduates with strong clips will be considered. We welcome diversity in our newsroom.
This reporter will join an experienced news team that works in conjunction with our sister paper, the Iowa-focused Quad-City Times.
The Quad-Cities is a fun place to live and work, with all the amenities of a big city – pro sports, big-name concerts, food and culture – without the traffic and high cost of living.
Applications must include a resume, cover letter and at least five writing examples.
