Job Overview

The Content Writer will create compelling content that positions Yellowbrick as a leader in cloud data warehousing and clearly explains Yellowbrick’s fully differentiated product position. This role understands the buyer intimately and will develop a complete content experience to help buyers grasp the unique value proposition of Yellowbrick. This person will produce top-notch content, including white papers, competitive data sheets, blog posts, social media content, website copy and corporate and executive presentations. This content will be both customer-facing and designed for our sales organization. This person will collaborate with content stakeholders across the organization to gather information and input and will help Yellowbrick expand our digital footprint, driving increased value through our online content. The ideal candidate will convey complex technical concepts in straightforward language, while also understanding how to position the benefits of technology to business leaders.


  • Work with the Product Marketing lead on a content strategy and messaging hierarchy
  • Plan and operationalize a content strategy “engine” for producing a regular stream of critical assets and materials
  • Regularly produce various content types including white papers, blog posts, e-books, PowerPoint presentations, social media posts that are highly technical and outline the business benefits of Yellowbrick
  • With Product Marketing, interview Yellowbrick customers and tell their stories, positioning the business benefits of Yellowbrick and areas of their business that were transformed using metrics, analysis, and quantitative support
  • Find and foster additional content-creators within Yellowbrick including Sales Engineers, Engineers, and Customer Services Representatives who can tell the Yellowbrick story, create awareness and thought-leadership content, and engage prospects and influencers through various channels
  • With Product Marketing, research competitive technology topics or internal product feature with assistance from Yellowbrick engineering or sales teams
  • Collaborate with other product marketing team members to generate ideas for collateral and/or marketing campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with Demand Generation and Campaigns teams to understand buyers and their journeys and work to build content strategies and plans that bring campaigns to life and aid the buyer in their journey
  • Integrate company and product messaging into all written collateral
  • Ensure top notch quality in content production
  • Work closely with Events and other Marketing teams on their content needs


  • 7-10 years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, editorial programs, writing, editing, and collateral creation at a fast-paced high- tech company
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of databases, analytics systems, data warehouses, and business-intelligence environments, in addition to big data and cloud & hybrid cloud technologies
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills
  • Have a proven track record of producing content that engages customers, enables sales, and drives leads
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in understanding B2B buyer needs and their journeys
  • Strong project management and communications skills to effectively manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Able to perform under pressure, prioritize and deliver results in a demanding and fast-paced environment that requires fresh thinking and innovation
