Responsibilities

  • This writer at heart is happiest when they are breaking down large concepts to tell compelling stories, and has interests in various areas and technologies. A cross-functional role, the content strategist role works to ensure that our content and stories are optimized to rank well in search engines, but also focuses on digging into the data and trends – reporting back to the team ways to ensure that our ongoing strategic decisions are data-driven.
  • In this role, you will help architect content and utilize storytelling tactics to support strategic initiatives out of the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) Dean’s Office. The scope of content strategy projects for the digital landscape will range from web content, digital signage, email campaigns, and social media strategy work as prioritized by the digital/product team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Marketing, English, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a web writer, copywriter, marketing writer, or digital journalist
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication acumen
  • Strong understanding of the broader digital disciplines – able to work within an integrated environment
  • Experience creating content optimized for social, web, search, or mail-based promotions
  • Experience with data and metrics that gauge content performance
  • Demonstrable expertise in cohesive brand storytelling tactics
