Job Description

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a Athletics Communication Post Graduate Intern, which is a temporary, full-time, benefits-eligible position for up to 24 months. An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

Daily program management for the assigned sports, which includes creating press releases, feature stories, maintaining statistical records, including but not limited to media guides, game programs and post-season brochures, promote the assigned sports programs.
Maintain www.kstatesports.com website for assigned sports, which includes but is not limited to writing and posting stories/articles, updating game stats and posting schedule results.
Serve as a secondary contact for men’s basketball as well as duties with football, women’s basketball and other wildcat sports teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications or related field by hire date
  • Outstanding communications skills and strong writing ability
  • Experience with desktop publishing software such as QuarkXPress/Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and individually
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to publicity and promotional efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years experience working in an intercollegiate athletics communication office
  • Working knowledge of Genius Sports/Stat Crew statistical software
  • Knowledge of Big 12 rules and regulations pertaining to publicity and promotional efforts

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required

Notes

  • Additional Salary Information: $10 per hour (approximately $20,800 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) in the first year; potential to earn $12.50 (approximately $26,000 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) after completion of first year with a successful review. Paid biweekly (26 pay periods). Benefits:
